The last few years have been interesting in our industry. A few years ago the SEMA show reflected our downsized economy with a slightly downsized show. Areas that used to be chocked full of cars and booths were now empty, hidden behind veiled curtains. People moped about in easily navigated aisles. The industry had been dealt a blow and everyone felt it. But time heals all wounds and I believe this year signaled a turning point. Everyone I talked to this year was excited and optimistic, dare I say "chipper" describes it nicely. But the proof was on the show floor. This year brought quite possibly the largest display of world class show vehicles ever to grace the Las Vegas Convention Center.And the crowds! I can't remember the last time I saw such packed show. Heading across a show hall was like swimming upstream no matter what direction you were headed. People were laughing, chatting, and catching up on old times. Yes, it was a good year for the SEMA Show, but I think the more important sign is that it was a good year for everyone, and that is just the beginning.
