The famed British marque reveals the latest in the line of special ‘T’ models.
The Bentley Azure is a rather exclusive, ultra-luxury convertible – I don’t think anyone will argue against that claim. However when it comes to Bentley, there are always ways to make a vehicle even more exclusive. Enter the Azure T.
To say that this car exudes a presence is a major understatement. At almost 18 feet long and seven feet wide, this is a very large, imposing automobile. Adding to that presence and indicating that this Azure is even more special are the 20-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, dark-tint mesh grille, Le Mans lower front wing air vents and twin exhaust pipes.
The T models in the Bentley family are always geared toward high performance, and this Azure T is no exception. To back up the exterior baubles is a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and an impressive 738 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power to move this 5,699 pound vehicle to 60 mph in a mere 5.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 179 mph. Not that this would affect a purchase decision of this car, but fuel economy is rated at 9.8 mpg city/ 20.1 mpg highway based on European cycle fuel measuring.
"The new Azure T reflects our passion for creating the world’s most exhilarating and prestigious convertibles that, true to the Bentley T tradition, blend sophistication with a powerful presence," says Stuart McCullough, member of the board, sales and marketing.
As with any Bentley, the Azure T carries its passenger in the utmost comfort. Interior features include diamond quilting in the custom leather seats, drilled alloy brake and accelerator pedals, black instrument faces, aluminum trimmed fascia and a choice of eight unbleached veneers and 25 different leather hides. With the 42 available exterior colors, it’s unlikely that two Azure Ts will ever be identical.
While the price is likely to be upwards of $300,000 (no word on pricing from Bentley), there are still optional extras that can be added to this already fully loaded vehicle. These include a "Naim for Bentley" 1,100 watt premium audio system with 10 speakers, carbon silicon carbide cross-drilled disc brakes, and NavTrak automatic driver recognition with 24-hour car location and tracking (U.K. and Europe only).
