RACE ENTRIES – thank you to all of you wonderful Masters Club members who have kept the faith and backed this event from the beginning; for those few remaining Doubters, now we hope you will feel able to join us and send in that Entry Form! And don’t forget, your regular Masters race car is as welcome as ever, of course, but also…
What special rare car can you bring along to race and to celebrate the Original Wheatcroft Ownership Donington Track Opening, back in May 1977? We have scheduled two 25 minute races for 1970s ‘club racers’ including our regular Touring70s and Stars of the 79s entrants, and additionally, one or two of those who actually raced at Donington that famous day 33 years ago will be out again – why not find yourselves that Capri, Dolomite Sprint, Vauxhall Magnum or whatever – and bring your best flared trousers, and that droopy stick-on moustache – the girls will be judging for a prize for the Best Dressed 1977 Racer!
And to demonstrate a rarity from your collection? What else, which is not eligible to race with Masters, do you have back in the workshop which will make an interesting display and on track demonstration car? We have three special themes – Pre-War Donington Racers; Race cars of 1977; and Gods of the Track. What have you got to show us? Please contact Christopher at the Masters office. Thanks to Kevin Wheatcroft and Hall & Hall, we will see some of the real rarities from the Donington Collection, as well as some iconic cars being offered to us – please join them!
