H&H celebrate their 100th auction on April 16 at Buxton

After some sixteen years in the industry H&H will be holding its 100th auction of vintage and classic cars on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at The Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire, the Cheshire company's ‘home-away-from-home’ venue. Among the notable lots consigned thus far are two interesting collections.

The first collection comes from an American-born but Parisian-based collector and comprises such rarities as a 1920 Kissel ‘Gold Bug’ Speedster, 1933 Pierce-Arrow 836 Club Brougham, 1951 Mercury Moneterey Convertible and 1933 Lagonda 3 / 3.5 Litre Tourer. Rare enough on the other side of the Atlantic, the American trio are scarcer than hen’s teeth in Europe.

The second collection consists of over thirty cars and has been entered by a Lake District family. Ranging in age from the 1930s through to the 1970s the varied assortment of British and European machinery on offer includes representatives from Alvis, Austin, Bentley, BMW, Daimler, Hillman, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Morris, Riley, Rolls-Royce, Singer, Standard, Sunbeam, Triumph and Wolseley. While the ultra-rare (1 of 12) 1937 Alvis 4.3 Litre Short Chassis Vanden Plas Tourer should garner much bidding, there are likely to be just as many people chasing the 1968 Sunbeam Stiletto.

The automobilia section houses everything from Formula 1 memorabilia to stationary engines via the usual plethora of automotive literature and decorative items. Motorcycles too are already represented by a 1935 BMW 750cc Combination and 1936 Ner-a-Car (though, others will doubtless follow). The closing date for catalog entries is Wednesday, March 25, 2009.
