Designed for both high performance functionality and stunning visual excitement, the Karvajal ZX-1, one of the most anticipated C6 Corvette conversions is now completely developed and tooled and is available for order throughout the world. Built to the most exacting standards in every respect, The ZX-1 has been prototyped, developed and production tooled by Bob Bennett and Bennett Coachworks LLC of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bob and his firm have one of the most varied and esteemed resumes that you will ever find in the automotive industry. In a career that spans over 38 years, Bob Bennett and Bennett Coachworks LLC have played a major role in some of the most rare, most revered, most sought after and most exciting examples of automotive history.
The key component of the ZX-1, is the totally redesigned body. For his supplier, Bennett has chosen Prototype Composites, a relatively new but technologically advanced firm known for their work with Honda Racing and the specialized, all carbon fiber Lotus Exsige, recently seen at SEMA. Bodies will be made available in both fiberglass and carbon fiber. Beyond the total body “swap” transformation, Bennett’s ZX-1 offers the customer an almost endless list of performance and appearance enhancements. The response to the prototype and car has been overwhelming, and with base prices beginning under $40,000, (U.S.), a sellout of the 200 car production run is expected.
