What to Expect

Rated as one of "The Ten Best Automobile Museums in the United States" exhibiting a small collection by Car Collector Magazine, the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum offers visitors a wide variety of historic automobiles. Over 25,000 square feet in size within 3 galleries, displays include historic nameplates running from REO, Star, Durant, and Viking to classic Oldsmobiles, buggies, bicycles, trucks and engines.

Visitors will explore Oldsmobile’s history from its very first prototype to some of the final Oldsmobiles produced. An 1899 Oldsmobile Electric and a 1996 GM EVI are also on display. A highlight for all performance enthusiasts is the 1966 Hurst Hairy Oldsmobile, a twin engine, four wheel drive, supercharged Olds 442 that tore up the dragstrip in years gone by. A trip is worth it just to see this car.

Additional displays feature awards, actual furniture from the Olds mansion, photographs, artifacts, and several bicycle and aviation displays that have never before been shown to the public.
