The 1989 Mini 30 – produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic marque, is the impressive prize at the much-anticipated raffle during British Mini Day, at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Sunday September 6. David Hollis, of event organizer, the British Mini Club, said: 'We’re so excited about offering this prize - to see an unused classic Mini is such a rare occurrence, and it also means it will be in fantastic condition for its lucky winner. This particular Mini was bought by a very generous father as a present for his son, who, after growing to 6ft4 found it a bit too compact for his stature! With a prize like this, we are expecting the raffle to be extremely popular. 'We’re also offering every Mini driver that comes to the show a free raffle ticket, so they have an extra chance to win.' The Mini 30 is the second of two vehicles to be raffled off by the club this year. Visitors to the British Mini Day at Himley Hall, Dudley on Sunday 10th May are in with a chance of winning a golden 1985 Mini Mayfair, with just 10,500 miles on the clock. Both Mini events are sponsored by specialist insurance broker Footman James, which is offering £250 worth of insurance for both prize Minis. Footman James’ Paul Matthews said: 'It is fantastic to be sponsoring such popular events during the Mini’s landmark 50th anniversary year, and we are sure the chance to win these amazing prizes will pull in the crowds.' Show-goers can also enjoy concours and pride of ownership displays, trade stands, and an extensive Minijumble. British Mini Days 2009 take place on Sunday, May 10 at Himley Hall, near Dudley and Sunday 6th September, at Uttoxeter Racecourse. Tickets to each cost £5 for British Mini Club members and £7 for non-members. For more information, and to book tickets, contact the British Mini Club, on 01384 897779.
