What to Expect

This unique facility started out as a Hudson/Essex dealership in 1927 and has been in the same family since 1933. It is the only Hudson dealership that continues to sell Hudsons. The 14,000-square-foot museum displays 32 cars, including a certified Hudson NASCAR stock car, an original Kaiser, body in white, still residing in its original body cradle and a 1951 Hudson limo once owned by the last president of the Hudson Motor Car company.

Visitors will also view a showcase display on Preston Tucker and a Tucker movie prop car. The exhibit also offers mounds of information on Hudson’s rich stock car winners. The town of Ypsilanti played a big part of automotive history, as the city where the Willow Run bomber factory was located. The Kaiser-Frazer assembly plant was in Ypsilanti, which later became the GM Hydramatic plant and the Willow run assembly plant that produced the Chevrolet Nova, Corvair, Caprice and the GM X car.
