DESCRIPTIONThis 38 Ford Pickup is a frame off restoration, all steel cab, wood flooring over steel bed, steel running boards and fenders. Original looking Ford insignia 16 inch black sidewall tires on the wheels and spare side mount. Beautiful black high gloss finish and black interior. Original starter button, steering wheel locking mechanism, crank out windshield, and cowl vent. All original gauges (speedometer, oil pressure, temperature, and ammeter) work with exception of the fuel gauge which only needs a new probe (available) to be installed in gas tank. Original vacuum system controlled wiper system. Beautiful front grille, headlights, rear tail lamps, chrome plated front and rear bumpers and Ford script insignia tail gate detailed in white. New engine and instrument panel wiring. Original 6 volt electrical system was retained. New 1939 central hydraulic braking system installed to replace 1938 mechanical braking system. New wheel braking system installed included brake pads and brake cylinders. Rebuilt flathead V-8 engine runs great - it purrs like a kitten and draws a crowd wherever it goes! Low mileage since frame off restoration. Always garaged since restoration. The 1938 model year pickup truck featured the first fully new cab since 1935. The new front end, featuring an oval grill, was a pioneering design that featured the first conventional front opening truck hood in the industry.
