DESCRIPTIONOur car "Lucille" after the Little Richard song - I have the Michigan vanity plate with her name on it - that, combined with the Tropical Rose & Snowshoe White color gets a lot of pictures at the Woodward Dream Cruise each year, as well as other local shows. I've owned Lucille since the late 1980's - bought her in Texas & drove her back to Michigan. She's like a family member - all four of us travel in Lucille to Sunday dinners in the summer, or to the local 1950's ice cream stand, or to an old drive-in hamburger place overlooking a local lake. Lucille will drive at expressway speeds if needed - but requires some tending to the wheel because I like to stay on original-type bias-ply wide whitewall tires. She's happiest on country two lane roads, fun to drive around curves, I feel like Broderick Crawford in Highway Patrol what with the body lean & crying tires! The only non-stock items are an electrical system 12 volt conversion & the big glasspacks burbling away under the car - sounds great - plus I added a thermostatically controlled electric fan - took all the vapor-lock drama out of cruising in hot weather & stop & go situations. Lucille participated in the Detroit Auto 100 Anniversary parade in 1996, and the Ford 100th Anniversary 3 day celebration in 2003 at Ford WHQ in Dearborn. She has been on television coverage of events, and the front page of the Oakland Tribune. She continues to win various people's choice awards at shows - the color combination + styling is a real 1950's crowd pleaser - I also get lots of waves from modern cars on the road. This is an early 1955 Crown Vic - built in CA., lived most it's life in TX until I came along & brought her to Michigan. When I was kid growing up in Dearborn, a neighbor across the street had a '56 Crown Vic - always loved that car & that's probably the main reason Lucille & I are together today - I'm looking to many more happy years of Crown Vic motoring!
