OVERVIEW

1965 Plymouth Valiant

  • DESCRIPTIONI got this very cool V-8 Valiant Signet from the original owner's daughter in 2005. He died a few years before and it sat in her Napa driveway until she was ready to let it go. It didn't run and was in terrible condition. I've since put more than $4,000 into rebuilding or replacing virtually everything under the hood. The transmission was serviced and is sound with no slippage. Tires and shocks are new with less than 2,000 miles on them. The odometer reads 98k miles and I was told those are original miles (in other words, not 198k). For those who know the Signet's history, there were fewer than 4,000 of them made in 1965 with fewer still on the road today. Mine is registered and road-ready with the black & gold California plates. However, it does need body and interior work. There is some body rust, but the undercarriage is clean. My wife is tired of this project which has gone slowly (recession and related job issues haven't helped). I'll entertain any reasonable offer that takes into account the collectible nature of the car.
