DESCRIPTIONHere is your midnight blue head turner. If you have always dreamed of owning a Cobra, this one is priced right for you and is closer to the original than any replica out there. Manufactured by BRA of England in 1988, BRA was a high quality manufacturer that took its body molds from original 427 and 289 Cobras. Original appearance interior with Smiths gauges and wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel fool many passer-bys to ask if the car is an original. Also, the lack of side pipes and cheesy racing stripes give this Cobra a classy look of sheer beauty. Powered by a robust 327 Chevrolet small block motor, putting out 350hp, this car was built for dependable daily driving. I may have lost the Ford purists at this point, but it is a historical fact that Carroll Shelby originally approached GM, not Ford, as his engine supplier but GM did not want competition for its Corvette. This is the car Shelby wanted to build. This car has never left me stranded and I have used it for a Friday driver and a weekend car for many years. This car is not a trailer queen as it has a definite "patina"; I have put a photo of an exemplary body blemish so that you understand that this car definitely has some body wear. From 10 feet away it looks flawless, but up close it is apparent the car could benefit from some fiberglass repairs and a paint job to kick it up that extra notch. The car is very well sorted and extremely well balanced with excellent road manners. The MG front end and Jaguar independent rear end make for a balanced combination and this car is ripping fast and can corner on a dime. I have upgraded the heads on this car and in the last year I have replaced the tires and replaced the exhaust system. The interior boasts leather Jaguar seats and 5-point harnesses for snug safety. I also have a top and side window frames for this car, and a roll bar although I have never put them on. This car, as noted, was manufactured in England and is a right hand drive car. While not convenient for McDonald's take out, it nevertheless gives this Cobra a "second kind of cool". The car is California registered and will have no problems passing DMV. It is registered as a 1973, and therefore is exempt from smog requirements. I am happy to spend a Saturday morning showing you the car.
