DESCRIPTIONThis Healey was sold as a new car in 1967 in Michigan - bought at Pontiac Sports Car - then a BMC dealer. I'm the 3rd owner - the car has 41,000 documented original miles on it - very solid & drives extremely well. I purchased the car in 2004 and really enjoy driving it on the twisty, winding two lane roads that start not far west of my home. Compared to my MGB/GT, this Healey weighs only 100 lbs more (2.300), and has 50% more horsepower - it feels like a muscle car by comparison! Full throttle from rest will bring wheel spin no problem, the car sounds glorious at full acceleration, and cornering starts as slight understeer progressing toward nuetral handling as long as you don't back out of it - fun stuff! The power assisted front disc / rear drum brakes are very good in modern traffic. I take the Healey to local shows, including the annual "Battle of the Brits" show in Orchard Lake, MI - she has also been to the Woodward Dream Cruise - gets lots of attention - many people are curious about the car as they don't know that much about Healeys, but love the classic British sports car styling. My wife & I also take the Healey out on "date nights" in the summer. The only time I put the top up is for winter inside storage - this is definitely an open air machine! I've wanted a big Healey since I was 12 years old & saw one at a local sports car show - finally got it, and a great one too!
