1972 Ford Pinto

• DESCRIPTIONOne owner brought new in 1972 and located in So. Calif. The car has always been garaged, even at work. All original except the hubcaps (believe they came off a '74 Pinto). The high mileage came from driving back and forth on the freeway to work in the seventies and very little since then, Bright yellow paint is original and still in outstanding condition (for a 37 year old car) as is the black interior with a 4 speed transmission that works well. One small crack in the dash, glass is good and no rust on underside. The battery box, as shown in the pictures, needs some work (caused by a leaking battery). It has a new 2v carburetor on the 2000cc four cylinder engine, newer radiator, manual front disk brakes, luxury decor group, and factory tinted glass with flipper rear quarter windows. It came with an AM radio but that has been replaced with a Nissan AM/FM. The dash was not cut so an original would fit back in (the old original may still be somewhere in the garage). The original gas cap was lost about a year ago. Rear bumper is not perfectly straight but all the chrome and windows are in good shape. Paint has several minor scratches, but overall pretty nice. The interior is nice with no tears and the rear carpet is new in the hatch area. Needs an interior door handle on the driver side (they are thin pot metal and always seem to snap off when used to pull the door closed). This is an outstanding opportunity to pick up a 1972 Pinto Runabout that's not rust bucket and almost totally original with the big 4 cylinder engine and a 4 speed. My Dad doesn't drive it much anymore (prefers his Audi 2,0T). The car is located in Mission Viejo, So. Orange County, Calif. and is also for sale locally.
