I am 100% disabled Vietnam Veteran (USMC) and I have a stepbrother who is a Vietnam Veteran also (US ARMY). He too is 100% disabled. He has a 1965 Chrysler Newport, which he saved from the crusher by 2 days and I have a 50 Dodge B2B 108 ½ ton Pick-up. The Chrysler Newport sat in a barn for 21yrs and has numbers matching 383 with a 727 torque flite trans. We live in up-state NY in Columbia County in a small town of Copake. Being disabled and not having a lot of money to put into our vehicles, we work with what is available and affordable. I did all of the bodywork and painted the Chrysler in 12 days in my driveway. Not bad for a couple of Mopar lovers.

My 50 Dodge B2B 108 1/2 ton Pick-up is a truck that has been forgotten to many people. I bought it off a farm and it was in less then fair shape but just the same I bought it. Over the years of trying to restore it became very hard because there were no parts to be found. Then one day the 218 flathead just stopped running and I didn't want to junk the truck, so I put a 74 Cuda 318 in it with a 904 toque-flight into it. There are some people that say that I ruined the truck by not leaving it stock, but if you can't find the parts what can you do. Anyway I felt that I had to give my truck it's life back and I did. Over the next few years I put nothing but Mopar parts in it and it looks and drives better then my new Dodge Ram. If I had a 50 Ford,Chevy or GMC the parts would have been plentiful. But that's ok because I've beaten many Fords,Chevys and GMC's at car shows and my old Ram looks as good if not better then they do now. Thank you for the chance to tell a little story of my 50 Dodge P/U which is a big part of my life. In a parting note I'll say...........Old Dodge trucks never die, They just change drivers.....................

I have attached a picture of an event that we were fortunate to be able to participate in last fall. One of our members is a retired Air Force B-1 navigator, and he was able to arrange for our club to get on to Ellsworth Air Force Base. Ellsworth is just a few miles from Rapid City and is one of two bases in the nation that house our B-1 bomber fleet. We were able to go out on the flight line, go up inside the B-1 and have pictures taken with the B-1 and our cars. What an experience!
The Black Hills Corvette Club was founded in 1978 and has been active ever since. We have approximately 25 cars in the club and sponsor monthly events such as poker runs, time and distance rallies, car shows, etc. Many of our events involve driving through the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
