These cars were built by seasoned race car fabricators and crew chiefs in Indianapolis, Indiana and who took the original GT40 design and updated it with new technologies and materials. This car came out of the famous car collection of John O'Quinn who amassed a collection in excess of 600 cars. Since it spent most of its life in the collection it only has 290 original miles. SONY awarded the GT40 North America car their "Best Domestic Automobile" prize at the 2004 SEMA show. These cars were built using some of the most cutting edge materials available. The body, dash, and other components of the car are made of carbon fiber. The suspension is coil-over shocks, there is ice cold AC, ROUCHE supplied a specially built 392/485 HP engine for these cars, and the transmission is the legendary ZF 5-speed. The BURNS stainless steel headers are a work of art and the nicest we've seen anywhere. This car will do 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. These cars has a MSRP of $125,000.00 when sold new. Due to the expense of the materials and craftsmanship involved in building these cars less than 20 were built with the number possibly being as low as 6 units.
